The Instructional Technology service provides support for the effective integration of technology into the curriculum. Services include technology planning, software and hardware purchasing, installation, and technical support. The Instructional Technology CoSer (523) works together with the Model Schools CoSer (524) to provide technology-related professional development to educators. Therefore, participation in the Instructional Technology CoSer requires participation in the 524/527 Staff Develpoment CoSer.
Equipment Purchases
Schools participating in the Instructional Technology CoSer may purchase approved equipment through the CoSer and receive BOCES aid on their purchases. Purchasing is handled by ONC BOCES on behalf of the district.
Installment Purchase Agreements
In addition to direct purchases, participating school districts may purchase equipment through an installment purchase agreement (IPA). IPA's are loans with terms of 2-5 years. IPA payments are subject to BOCES aid. IPA's can be used together with BOCES aid to provide districts with a life-cycle replacement plan for a low cost. Contact the ISS department for further information.
Technology Planning
Instructional Technology Plans are required for all districts who receive either e-rate reimbursement or Title IID funding. ONC BOCES provides a planning service to all districts in the development of their technology plans. Contact the ISS department for further information.
