Model Schools/School Improvement

The Model Schools and School Improvement CO-SERs provide a variety of curriculum and instructional activities for districts.

The activities include staff and curriculum development surrounding the New York State Learning Standards.  Examples include but are not limited to:

  • instructional technology
  • curriculum mapping
  • CDEP planning
  • instructional technology planning
  • grade 3-8 scoring and mentor training

Access to regional workshops are provided through participation in the base cost of these CO-SERs (additional costs for supplies may be applied).  In addition, school districts have the option of purchasing in-district support from a BOCES professional staff developer.  In-district support is purchased in groups of 10 days and are scheduled individually with a staff developer.

Workshops with joint participation by two or more districts generate BOCES state aid on the cost of the program including consultants, substitute teachers, stipends and travel.
