SESIS provides targeted support and technical assistance as it relates to educational programs and academic performance of students with disabilities. Districts in need have been identified by NYSED based on State Performance targets and district accountability data. SESIS works collaboratively with local school administrators and teachers to assess their staff development needs and develop and/or align programs to meet the needs of students with disabilities. The focus of SESIS is to provide technical assistance that will result in system wide school improvement.
Additional SESIS services:
- Provide technical assistance to parents and educators children with disabilities.
- Inform district personnel of courses, workshops, regional training opportunities and conferences.
- Disseminate information about New York State and federal laws and regulations relating to the education of students with disabilities.
- Provide a library of instructional material, professional journals and references, teaching material, educational resources, training programs for teachers, administrators, and parents.
