From West Nile Virus and Ebola to Anthrax, whether the threat is attributed to nature or terrorism, a new range of diseases has become part of our world. During the outbreak of an illness in a school or in a community, the NYS Department of Health Emergency Medical Services unit will take charge. The Safety/Risk Management Service has dealt with personnel from that office and can assist your district in handling the actual situation and the media coverage.

• Act as a liaison between the school district and the NYS Department Of Health  EMS (Emergency Medical Services).

• Provide information on medical conditions and communicable diseases.
