OHM Learning Network – Buzz

In partnership with OHM BOCES, ONC BOCES supports area educators in offering online courses through the Buzz learning management system. This platform provides access to curriculum developed by hundreds of New York State certified teachers. Districts may use existing content, customize it, or create their own content within the Buzz platform.

Schoology

Schoology /skoo.luh.jee/ is a modern, user-friendly learning management system designed to support teaching and learning at every level. With intuitive navigation and mobile access, Schoology allows educators to create engaging content, design dynamic lessons, and assess student understanding in real time.

The ONC BOCES Online Learning Program offers flexible, individualized learning opportunities through accredited online courses provided by ONC BOCES-approved vendors. These courses are designed to support students in earning academic credit for a variety of needs, including:

• Scheduling conflicts

• Extended absences from school

• Credit recovery

• Accelerated coursework

• Foundational support

• Academic enrichment

• Electives not currently available in the home district

Courses are available at both the middle school and high school levels.

Program Services

The ONC BOCES Online Learning Program provides comprehensive support for students, school staff, and families throughout the online learning process. Services include:

• Student Enrollment & Registration into online courses

• Orientation Sessions to train students in navigating the online learning platform

• Progress Monitoring including regular checks of student activity, grades, and course completion

• Ongoing Student Support for any questions or technical concerns

• Liaison with Online Instructors to address academic issues or student inquiries

• Regular Communication with students, families, guidance counselors, and Teachers of Record

• Grade & Progress Reporting for interim reports and report cards

• Final Grade Submission upon course completion

• Responsive Information Sharing with school personnel and guidance staff as requested
