In November, students are practicing gratitude. Gratitude is mindful thankfulness even when things are challenging. When we practice gratitude, we feel thankful and want to share that feeling with others. We are grateful for these beautiful days and for each other!

New Visions Engineering students visited SUNY ESF in Syracuse on October 16th for an exciting campus tour. Led by Mr. Feola and three student guides (including New Visions alumni), they explored the school’s innovative programs, sustainability efforts, and unique campus life. From Illick Hall to the Gateway Center’s wildlife collection, the students left with a great impression of SUNY ESF, making it a top choice for those interested in environmental studies! The class also visited Syracuse University for a campus tour led by alumni and staff. They explored iconic buildings like the Hall of Languages, Bird Library, and Carnegie Library, followed by a presentation on SU's programs and clubs. Students toured lab spaces and had lunch at Shaw Hall, where they met up with past NVE alumni. The day wrapped up with a tour of the JMA Wireless Dome, where they learned about its impressive engineering and history.

Dear ONC BOCES community, Please see below for an announcement from the ONC BOCES District Superintendent, Dr. Huber, regarding the widespread school threats that have taken place. Sincerely, ONC BOCES

September 19, 2024 Dear ONC BOCES Community, The purpose of this message is to reinforce our commitment to the safety of our students and staff at ONC BOCES in light of the unfounded threats that have circulated via social media over the past few days. In response to those unfounded threats, we engaged with law enforcement and notified families, staff, and our component districts. Our teams met with students and staff throughout the day to make sure that everyone felt safe and supported. We welcomed an increased law enforcement presence at both of our centers. We want to assure our community that we have and will continue to take seriously any threat to the safety of our students. We debriefed at the end of the day with our staff and with our component superintendents in order to make sure that we are taking every step necessary to make sure our centers are as safe as possible so that our students and staff can get back to the important work of teaching and learning. We encourage you to reach out with any questions. As always, we encourage you to stay vigilant and notify your school leaders when you are aware of a potential threat to student safety. We will continue to update our community if/when we have additional information to share. With thanks, Dr. Huber

The Mechatronics senior class wanted to thank Arianna Patsos, Consultant Teacher, for being the "Mechatronics Mom." In the past five years of the program, Ms. Patsos has been a constant help in guidance, mentoring, assisting in writing speeches and applications and helping to develop work skills. This program relies on guidance from industry and our Advisory Board, and the unwavering help from Ms. Patsos has helped make this program a success! Thank you!!
