Mission Statement
School Library System (SLS) is a dynamic Professional Learning Community that advocates for 21st Century school libraries, facilitate resource sharing, provides professional development that aligns with state and national standards, and promotes librarians as leaders.
Who Are We?
School Library System is part of the Instructional Services at ONC BOCES. We provide access to a multitude of resources and support each component School Library Media Center within the ONC region of schools. School Library System provides access to the "Media Library"; a cost effective way to access instructional media with semi-weekly delivery to component school districts. The Media Library allows teachers, students, and parents access to a multitude of instructional media including digital streaming, DVDs, eBooks, and hands-on curriculum kits addressing diverse learning styles. Using iPads, Tablets, ChromeBooks, digital cameras, STEAM resources, DVD and video projectors, teachers can design technology-inspired learning activities that engage students in their own learning, and support the New York State Learning Standards.
