Legislation and/or Regulation:
The Law states that it is the duty of school authorities of public and non-public schools used for students to be inspected at least annually for fire hazards which may endanger the lives of students, teachers and employees therein. The report of such inspection shall be filed with the Commissioner of Education.
What the SRM Service can do to help:
- Conduct the fire and building code inspections annually for district schools.
- Advise districts on compliance issues regarding fire and code safety.
