Northern Catskills Occupational Center

The Northern Catskills Occupational Center in Grand Gorge, N.Y. hosts a wide range of Career and Technical Education courses for high school juniors and seniors, as well as Innovative Programs which provides special education services to school districts.  NCOC courses prepare students for advanced training, college and careers. Guidance staff assist students in finding employment, work-based learning opportunities, internships and scholarships, as well as the college application process. This 360-degree approach allows ONC BOCES to empower high school students to get the most out of their educational experience and prepare them to succeed in the workplace or college.

Career and Technical Education
Our Career and Technical Education programs focus on integrating academics with instruction in specific trade-related skills. Students are supported in their transition to the world of work through hands-on instruction and through work experience under the supervision of certified instructors. Advanced standing in many colleges, technical schools, military and businesses are offered through the ongoing development of articulation agreements. The New Visions Health Care Professions Program is offered at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta, N.Y. and Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, N.Y. Additionally, the central administrative offices for ONC BOCES are located at the Northern Catskills Occupational Center in Grand Gorge, NY. Enrollment in any ONC BOCES Career and Technical Education program, with the exception of Adult Education, must be made at the request of the component school district to the Career and Technical Education Centers' administration.
